Ryan Giggs back at Wales' training camp
RYAN GIGGS set tongues wagging when he appeared in the Wales camp... just hours after Gareth Bale was pulled out of the big showdown with England, writes Paul Abbandonato.
But don’t get too excited about an international playing return of the greatest British player of a generation.
The Manchester United legend says he has no intention of pulling on his Wales boots again.
He turned up at the team’s Vale of Glamorgan training HQ in his civvies to help give Gary Speed’s team a pep talk ahead of their big Millennium Stadium date.
Giggs, the next Wales manager in waiting, is pictured above shooting the breeze with Craig Bellamy after watching the team go through their paces in training.
Speed resisted the temptation to ask Giggs to come out of retirement for a one-off game, even though he is the most natural like-for-like replacement for the absent Bale.
Giggs, instead, will be Sky TV’s pundit for the big game.
But he has offered the young Welsh squad his words of wisdom... so fingers crossed they will work.
