Ryan Giggs surprises budding Flintshire and Wrexham football stars

Welsh football legend Ryan Giggs enjoyed a kickabout with youngsters during a surprise visit to Holywell Town FC.

Manchester United’s assistant manager made the trip to Halkyn Road to congratulate the Wellmen on recently being named FA Wales’s Community Club of the Year.

The former Wales star also visited Glyndwr University where he enjoyed a training session with Wrexham-based Brickfield Rangers.

Giggs, who is McDonald’s Head of Welsh Football, also handed out new kits to the two clubs.

Steve Thomas, Holywell Town FC’s football in the community officer, said he was delighted the football star had visited the youngsters.

He said: “On Tuesday night Ryan Giggs visited Holywell Town FC to reward them for winning this year’s FAW’s Welsh Community Club of the Year award.

“This was in recognition of the work the club do out in the community, delivering youth outreach work and providing doorstep sport opportunities to young people in local schools and deprived areas.”

Giggs was also filmed inside the Holywell Town FC changing room by Sky Sports where he picked his all-time best eleven for the Fantasy FC show.
