Ryan Giggs is Gareth Bale's greatest ever team-mate
Asked who the best player he has linked up with, the Wales ace chose the former Manchester United legend - a confession sure to upset Ronaldo
Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has revealed that compatriot Ryan Giggs is the greatest player he’s ever played with.
The 27-year-old fulfilled a dream by linking up with the Manchester United legend twice while on international duty with Wales, including a 3-0 win over San Marino in 2007 when both scored.
And speaking during a Q&A session with Foot Locker, Bale labelled Giggs his hero.
"For me the greatest player is Ryan Giggs. He was my hero growing up and is a legend in world football. It also helps he’s a fellow Welshman,” he said.
The confession is bound to upset club mate Cristiano Ronaldo with whom he has won the Champions League twice alongside.
A former Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo is regarded as one of the best players to ever grace the game having chalked up a total of 371 goals for Real.
