Class of 92 returned to Old Trafford for adidas "Ninety-Two" launch
Some familiar faces were back at Old Trafford on Friday for the launch of a limited edition adidas trainer, the Ninety-Two, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Manchester United's famous 1992 FA Youth Cup-winning team.
Five members of that celebrated side - David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes - plus 1995 FA Youth-Cup winner Phil Neville were reunited at the stadium's Megastore, for a special event to mark the official release of the new adidas footwear.
A number of excited fans who won a competition to gain VIP entry to the event were also in attendance and took part in a Q&A session with the former Reds stars in a Facebook Live video, which was hosted by TV presenter and United fan Rachel Riley and streamed on the club's account.
Only 1,992 pairs of the Ninety-Two trainer have been made, with each pair individually numbered to make them unique, and they are now available to purchase from selected Manchester-based retailers, as well as in the Megastore and online at adidas.com and United Direct (store.manutd.com).
REDS TRIO BACK AT THE CLIFF
Three of Manchester United's most famous players took a trip down memory lane recently for a special photoshoot for the new Ninety-Two trainer.
The latest collaboration between Adidas and United sees the launch of the limited-edition trainer which celebrates the 25th anniversary of the famous Class of '92.
Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and Nicky Butt made a return to their roots when they visited The Cliff Training Ground, a place where they grew up and played many matches as youngsters.
Adidas' cameras were on hand to film behind-the-scenes footage of the photoshoot and you can watch what Ryan, Gary and Nicky got up to in the video above.
With only 1,992 pairs made, the Ninety-Two trainer is now available in selected Manchester-based retailers, as well as in the Old Trafford Megastore and online at adidas.com and United Direct (store.manutd.com).
Each pair is individually numbered 1 – 1992 making every pair unique. The shoe has an upper using material linking back to the original home shirt worn in that year and the insole also has a link back to the that iconic era with a printed pattern taken from the away jersey worn famously by Giggs. The golden lettering of “Ninety - Two” complete the shoe.
