Ryan Giggs wants to enter triathlons once his United career is over
Ryan Giggs is taking swimming lessons so that he can take part in triathlons once he finally hangs up his boots for Manchester United.
Giggs, who will celebrate his 39th birthday next month, has told friends that he is keen to take part in the gruelling endurance event – the longest of which comprises a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile marathon run.
The Welshman has always taken great pride in his physical fitness and has taken up yoga to prolong a playing career with United that is now in its 23rd season.
And it seems he isn’t going to take it easy when the time comes to step away from football.
Giggs has been visiting a pool in Manchester for regular lessons to improve his swimming technique.
His latest Old Trafford contract runs out at the end of the season.
