Giggs: Juventus will want to avenge Barcelona defeat against Real Madrid

JUVENTUS will be desperate to avenge their Champions League final defeat to Barcelona two years ago when they play Real Madrid tomorrow, according to Ryan Giggs.

Juventus were beaten 3-1 by Barcelona in Berlin in 2015 thanks to goals from Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

The Old Lady have not won Europe's elite club competition since they overcame Ajax in 1996 and have lost four finals since then.

Their opponents in Cardiff tomorrow, Real Madrid, are the current holders of the Champions League and are looking to become the first side to win the trophy back-to-back.

Giggs believes there is a massive incentive for both sides to come away victorious from the final.

"Juventus will obviously be really keen to win having lost a couple of years ago against Barcelona"

"Real Madrid have been so impressive since Zidane has taken over, obviously winning it last year," he said on Sky Sports.

"If they win it again they will be the first team to ever defend the Champions League, that's a big incentive for them.

"Juventus, who have been so strong especially in their own league, have taken that into the Champions League.

"They will obviously be really keen to win having lost a couple of years ago against Barcelona."

Manchester United legend Giggs believes Welsh compatriot Gareth Bale, who is set to return from injury for Real Madrid, can play a big difference tomorrow.

"What a player to have come off the bench," he added.

"Of course he will be raring to go, in his hometown.

"He's a special player who can come on and make a difference."
