United legacy will serve us well for the title, says Gary Neville

Gary Neville says that the experience of players such as Edwin van der Sar, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes will tip the title race in United's favour.

The former England and United full-back, who has a testimonial match at Old Trafford against Juventus on May 24, said: 'The manager has a very good mix of players around the squad, with six or seven above the age of 30, six or seven from 24- 30 and then eight or nine from 16-24.

'The balance just continually moves on, as the mid-tier players become the experienced players.

'That's something Sir Alex Ferguson has always kept. At the start of the season there was myself, Wes Brown, Darren Fletcher, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Darron Gibson, Jonny Evans, Rafael and Fabio. That's nine players who have come through the ranks.

'Then there are another group who are British, like Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Rio Ferdinand, who have understood the club for a long time.

'Then you then mix that with the foreign players who have great experience like Nemanja Vidic, Van der Sar, Patrice Evra.

'You have a good mix through the squad because that's really important.'
