Ryan Giggs makes Marcus Rashford prediction
Ryan Giggs insists Marcus Rashford will become Manchester United's No.9.
The Mancunian youngster has had to take his chances on the left wing so far this season following the arrival of centre-forward Romelu Lukaku.
And with Zlatan Ibrahimovic pushing for a place once he is fully recovered from his knee surgery, it looks like, for the time being at least, Rashford's situation won't change.
But Giggs has likened the 19-year-old to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and believes he can scores goals from wide areas - and develop into a fully-fledged central striker.
"He can definitely play out wide, but eventually he’s going to be a No.9," Giggs told ITV after watching Rashford come on as a second-half substitute for England against Malta and play wide of centre-forward Harry Kane.
"I see similarities with Thierry Henry myself, he’s brilliant off the left.
"Even if he’s playing centre-forward, he drifts off to the left where you can take players on either side.
"But then, if he’s not played centre-forward a lot and all of a sudden Kane gets injured and you ask him to play up front, he can do it."
