Ryan Giggs to be honoured at HMV Extravaganza in October

Ryan Giggs will follow in the footsteps of fellow Manchester United legends Sir Alex Ferguson, Eric Cantona and Denis Law when he is honoured at the HMV Football Extravaganza in October.
 
Sir Alex, Cantona and Law have all been recipients of the Legend of Football Award at the annual charity dinner and this year's event, on Tuesday 14 October, will be dedicated to Giggs' achievements in the game.
 
Now in its 19th year, the HMV Football Extravaganza has raised over £6million for music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins. Many of Ryan's former team-mates, as well as some other football greats, will be in attendance at the dinner, which will be held at The London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane. And the man himself can't wait.
 
"It's an honour and privilege to be presented with the Legend of Football Award, particularly when I look back at the list of previous winners," said Ryan, who follows last year's recipient Pele in receiving the accolade. "I am looking forward to the event, celebrating with friends and colleagues and raising money for Nordoff Robbins, which is a really incredible cause."
