Real hail "fantastic" Giggs

Real Sociedad midfielder Ruben Pardo praised Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs following the two clubs' Champions League meeting on Tuesday evening.
 
United and Sociedad drew 0-0 in San Sebastian, a result that leaves the Spanish club with little chance of reaching the knock out stages.
 
Speaking to reporters following the match, Pardo was clearly disappointed not to have come away with more from a match Real undoubtedly felt they had to win.
 
However, the player did have some positive words for Giggs, who was singled out for special praise.
 
Pardo is quoted on the Uefa website as saying: “Frankly, the boys are pretty down because despite us getting a draw against a team that made things really difficult for us, it still leaves us on the verge of being eliminated.
 
He added:“Giggs showed he is still at the top, top level. What a fantastic player. For me he is an absolute star. Look at his age and how he can still perform at this level.”
 
Sociedad are bottom of Group A with one point, six points short of a qualification spot with matches against Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayer Leverkusen to come.
 
United are top of the group with eight points and can seal their place in the next round with a win away to Leverkusen on 27 November.
