Manchester United sign striker Nishan Burkhart from FC Zurich
Manchester United’s policy of investing in youth has continued as the Red Devils have signed 16-year-old striker Nishan Burkhart from FC Zurich.
The story has been confirmed in the Swiss daily Blick, who carry quotes and a picture to confirm the transfer.
In the picture, Burkhart, alongside his parents, is stood next to Man United assistant coach Ryan Giggs.
Stefan Burkhart, the teenager’s father, told Blick:
We have decided to leave the club in the summer. Nishan switches to Manchester United. He had different ideas.
Nishan Burkhart is predominately a centre-forward, who is known for his lethal right foot.
Is he the next Marcus Rashford?
It’s hard place any bets on Burkhart at this stage, as he’s yet to make his senior professional debut, while he’s expected to slot into Manchester United’s academy system when he joins Carrington.
