RYAN GIGGS is more excited than ever on the eve of his 23rd Reds campaign.

The 38-year-old has signed a 12-month contract and is not looking to bow out.

Giggs said: “The excitement is still there, maybe even more so when you get to the end of your career. I’m as excited now as I was for the first couple.

“I don’t think about it being my last season. If it is then so be it.”

Giggs is thrilled by Robin van Persie’s arrival. He said: “Robin is a quality player.”
