Giggs warning for rookies
Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs has warned the club's rookies they need to prove they are up for the fight at Old Trafford.
The Carling Cup holders were humbled in this season's quarter-finals on Tuesday night as West Ham hammered Sir Alex Ferguson's much-changed team.
A 4-0 defeat was a humiliation for the current Premier League leaders and Giggs, who was a rare senior player to feature, thinks his young colleagues need to show greater backbone.
"Maybe heads can drop and the first goal came at a good time for West Ham," said the Welshman.
"Obviously we started the second half really well, but they scored from their first attack and maybe heads dropped.
"But you are at Manchester United and you need to rise above that.
"You still need to carry on playing your football and not let your heads drop."
