Giggs still feeling good

Ryan Giggs celebrated 20 years as a professional this week and retirement is still not on the horizon for the Manchester United great.

Giggs' appearances have been more fleeting in recent seasons, but he still has a major impact on games and recently signed for the 2011-12 campaign. He is happy with his role under Sir Alex Ferguson, and will take stock of his future in 12 months' time.

"Over the last three or four years I have relaxed a little bit and trust the manager," Giggs told Sky Sports News. "He knows when I will be most effective. If you are tired, you can't be effective. At 37, everything has to be right. You have to be in good form and feeling good to play your best."

Giggs recently saw Gary Neville retire, while Paul Scholes has yet to commit to another year, but the midfielder is happy to carry on his career.

"I have just signed a year and feel good," he said. "I don't see how the way I feel is going to change much in two or three months. I will go away and have a nice holiday and then get ready for next year.

"Over the last few years, I have signed just after Christmas. It depends on how I am feeling then. I don't think a lot is going to change in three or four months, so if you are still feeling good in February then you make a decision then. If you are feeling tired or not getting that same buzz and motivation then I would definitely stop."
