Giggs gets Real accolade

Ryan Giggs was voted the ManUtd.com Man of the Match for his display against Real Madrid in midweek.

The Welshman produced an exceptional performance and was tireless in defeat, urging on colleagues and fans alike with his actions on the field. It's fair to say he looked the fittest player on the pitch despite being the oldest at 39.

Sir Alex Ferguson stated at his press conference on Friday: "Ryan Giggs won't play on Sunday. Why? Because he was the best player we had and we know how to look after him."

Giggs polled 46 per cent of the vote to finish well clear of the other three candidates. Skipper Nemanja Vidic just edged Danny Welbeck into third spot with Rafael in fourth despite also receiving plenty of support.
