Blind: Giggs has still got it!
Manchester United's new Mr Versatile, Daley Blind, tackles five random questions posted by fans on the club's official Facebook page and reveals which three former players he would love to have had as team-mates...
If you could play alongside one ex-Red, who would it be and why? Peter Collis
Manchester United has had so many great players, so it is difficult to choose. Cristiano Ronaldo, who is now one of the best in the world. It would be nice to play with him and I think I could learn a lot from him. Also, I was a fan of David Beckham. I was a fan of his passing and how he was always important in the game. I missed out on playing with Giggsy. He is somebody you look up to, he is a personality and I try to learn from him. He sometimes plays in training… he has still got it!
Yourself and Robin van Persie recently played darts with darts legends Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld. How was that? Soloman A
I enjoyed it. I have always watched darts and I have followed it for a long time, so it was nice to play with and against them. It was also nice to beat Robin [van Persie]! I was okay, in the past I have played quite a lot with a friend of mine who has a board at home. So I have got a bit of a feeling for it, so I am quite good, but you need a bit of luck as well.
What are your favourite things about living in Manchester? Allan Idris
I live in the city centre, it is really nice. I live in an apartment as I wanted to be with the people and the crowds. I used to live in the city centre in Amsterdam as well. I like to do normal stuff, like going on my bike, going out for lunch or dinner. Just normal things.
Do you have any pre-match superstitions or rituals? Jason Birch
Not really. I have a bit of an order in terms of how I put everything on. It’s not left to right, but it is always the same order every time. What happens if I don’t do it? Nothing I guess, but I like to do things in the same way and have consistency.
What would you have been if you weren’t a footballer? Charlotte Swift
I was okay at school, but I did not really like it so I always wanted to do something with sports. I always said that if I was not a football player then I wanted to be a gymnastics coach at school. But it would have to be sport and not sitting in an office somewhere. Maybe be a trainer with kids, but definitely not economics or something like that!
