Giggs lined up for Wales job

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is being lined up as a future coach of Wales.

Current manager Chris Coleman is expected to be in charge of the Dragons until the 2016 European Championship, at least.

But Football Association of Wales chief executive Jonathan Ford said: “I have an open and good relationship with a lot of potential future applicants and managers. It is wise for me to do that.

“Good examples of that are Ryan Giggs and Craig Bellamy. I would want to make sure that when they retire – if they do go into management and become good managers – then we can get hold of them.

"The last thing you want to be doing is scrambling around when the opportunity arises or you are unable to get in touch and have a conversation with people.”
