Giggs gunning to reclaim crown

Ryan Giggs is relishing the challenge of trying to win back the Premier League after narrowly missing out to Manchester City last season.

Manchester United came within seconds of defending their title on the final day of the campaign as a stoppage-time goal from Man City's Sergio Aguero against Queens Park Rangers condemned them to second place.

Giggs respects City's achievement but insists the Red Devils will come back stronger in a bid to re-establish their domestic dominance.

The veteran Welshman, currently preparing for the Olympics as part of Team GB, has warned his rivals that United have no intention of getting second prize for a second successive season.

He told Sky Sports News: "City have been up there with us for a couple of years. They won the league, and whoever wins the league deserves to win the league. It is as simple as that.

"For a United player it is always a challenge, whether you are defending a title or trying to get it back.

"Next season will be no different. We will be more determined than ever to try and win the Premier League back, and it is up to us to do that.

"We were just pipped at the post on the last day, but we have done it to other teams over the years, and it is up to us to try and go one better next year."
